As Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, said, although the entire film team is excited to return to Marvel’s Wakanda and introduce it to fans, everyone misses Chadwick Boseman playing the main character. As the producer announced in 2020 during Disney Investor Day:
Chadwick Boseman was an extremely talented actor and inspirational person who influenced everything: our professional and personal life. His portrait of Black Panther is iconic and goes beyond any iteration of this character in any other Marvel medium.
It was already confirmed then that after the tragic death of the actor, his role would not be re-auditioned. Instead, the story will change its concept and focus on other characters of the world in the set as well.
The first installment of Black Panther debuted in theaters in 2018. The title character had to face a new challenge, which was taking power in the country after his father’s death. This task was made more difficult because a country devoid of a strong leader is soon attacked by its former enemy. Black Panther’s task is to defend not only her homeland, but the rest of the world.
The plot of Wakanda Forever is still unknown , although there is no shortage of guesswork about it . The cast of the film has also not been confirmed, but according to earlier reports, Lupita Nyong’o (Nakia), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Winston Duke (M’Baku) and Angela Bassett (Ramonda) will return to production.
At the moment, the release date of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled for the beginning of July 2022.
