The Assassin’s Creed series is one of Ubisoft’s biggest franchises, while the publisher apparently has serious plans to continue to develop it in the coming years. According to a new report from Insider Gaming ‘s Tom Henderson , four more ‘assassins’ are already in the planning stages, aside from the already known Assassin’s Creed Mirage . The four projects include the Assassin’s Creed Nexus sequel , which Henderson reported earlier this month. The other three games in the series are developed by separate teams.
The planned titles will probably look like this:
- Assassin’s Creed set in India, the Aztec Empire and the Mediterranean. This suggestion comes from Ubisoft Sofia, the team behind 2012’s Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation and 2014’s Assassin’s Creed Rogue . The project is currently codenamed Project Nebula .
- A four-player PvE cooperative Assassin’s Creed game by Ubisoft Chengdu. The studio previously co-created Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game . Currently codenamed Project Raid .
- Another Assassin’s Creed multiplayer, this time using the company’s ‘Scalar’ technology. The news comes from Ubisoft Annecy, the team that worked on the multiplayer segments from previous installments of the series. The title is currently called Project Echoes .
Still from the game “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla”, Ubisoft
According to Henderson’s sources, Ubisoft is “going all-in on AC and some other major franchises.” The information seems credible, but it is worth taking it with a pinch of salt for now. Any doubts will be dispelled by the official announcements of Ubisoft, which will sooner or later share news with the players.
