Probably the most anticipated and largest panel of this year’s Comic Con in San Diego has ended. It’s time to sum up the Marvel Studios presentation.
The panel started with a special video footage edited from the Marvel films to date. Then the head of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, invited the staff of the producers who were in charge of the MCU to the stage and thanked them.
After the official part, it’s time for new productions. At the beginning of the Eternals . The film cast appeared on stage: Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lisa McHugh, Don Lee and Angelina Jolie. The film’s logo was also presented on the large screen, and the premiere date was announced on November 6, 2020.
Then came Falcon and the Winter Soldier series . The production will debut on the Disney + platform this fall. The title roles, Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, appeared on the stage. Interestingly, Mackie arrived at the panel with Captain America’s shield. Both actors admitted that they are eager to explore their heroes, which motivates them to act. Additionally, Daniel Bruhl appeared on stage unexpectedly, playing Zemo in Captain America: A War of Heroes . The actor also wore the characteristic purple mask.
We go back to the movies. The end of all rumors and speculations. The niche hero of Shang-Chi will get his own production. The picture will be titled Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and will debut in February 2021. The film will star Awkwafina and Tony Leung as Mandaryn! The cast will also include Simu Liu. Destin Daniel Cretton will be responsible for directing.
The next production in question is the WandaVision series . Described as a mega-event and something Marvel has never done before, it will debut on Disney + in spring 2021. The action of the series will take place after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Vision’s impersonator Paul Bettany admits that he does not know how his character will be brought back to life. The cast also includes Teyonah Parris, who will play Monica Rambeau. This character has already appeared in the movie Captain Marvel as a girl.
Loki is another series dedicated to the Disney + platform. Like WandaVision, it is to debut in the spring of 2021. The action takes place after Loki’s escape in Avengers: Endgame .
Another film announced is the sequel to Doctor Strange . The film will be titled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and will hit theaters on May 7, 2021. The action is to take place after the events of the WandaVision series and will star Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch.
The next project announced is What if…? . It will be an animated series aired on Disney +. The Observer, well-known to comic book fans, voiced by Jeffrey Wright, will appear in it. The action will focus on this character. The observer will witness events across the multiverse and will occasionally intervene in them.
Another production is also a series from Disney +. Hawkeye will tell the story of how Clint Barton trains Kate Bishop to be his successor. In the series we will also see moments from the time when the protagonist functioned under the pseudonym Ronin.
We also know the official title of the fourth Thor movie! Thor: Love and Thunder will hit theaters in November 2021. The director of the picture is, of course, Taika Waititi, and we will see Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson again in the lead roles. The production will be an adaptation of The Mighty Thor series by Jason Aaron. The female version of Thor will also be included. Natalie Portman is to appear in this role.
And the last movie of this panel, i.e. Black Widow . The premiere is scheduled for May 2020. In addition to Scarlett Johansson, the film will also star David Harbor (Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian), Florence Pugh (Yelena Volova), OT Fagbenle (Mason) and Rachel Weisz (Molina). As predicted, we’ll learn more about the Black Widow’s past in the movie.
Finally, Kevin Feige confirmed that the plans for the coming years also include Black Panther 2 , Captain Marvel 2 , Fantastic Four , Guardians of the Galaxy 3, and the Fantastic Four and mutant movies, with Mahershala Ali being cast as Blade.
