The title character of Scooby is an unusual dog, whose best friend and companion in everyday adventures is Shaggy. Together with three friends Daphne, Velma and Fred, they form a group of detectives! Their world is full of unexpected twists, exciting events and adventures that require a lot of courage.
In Scooby-Doo! and the Legend of the Sword, the heroes are transported to the time of Camelot by the sorceress Morgan le Fay. They have to find themselves in a completely new reality and help King Arthur save the land. They are hindered by dangerous, fire-breathing dragons and magicians who cast spells. Shaggy is kidnapped and Camelot becomes chaotic.
In the Polish language version we will hear: Ryszard Olesiński (Scooby), Jacek Bończyk (Kudłat), Beata Jankowska-Tzimas (Daphne), Jacek Kopczyński (Fred) and Agata Gawrońska-Bauman (Velma).
Scooby-Doo is a hero loved by millions of children and adults. The perpetually hungry and mischievous Yellow Great Dane – arguably the most cowardly detective of all time, has entertained audiences since 1969.
The originator of the Scooby-Doo series was Fred Silverman, the legendary TV producer who decided in the late 1960s that he was fed up with superhero stories. He decided to produce a new series that would be a combination of a crime fiction, comedy and an adventure film. He introduced his idea to William Hanna and Joseph Barbara, who in turn commissioned Ken Spears and Joe Ruby to come up with the characters and write scripts for several episodes. The first project – titled Mysteries Fiv e – was dismissed by station chairman Frank Stanton as being too dark and scary for children, but that didn’t put Silverman off. During one of the official flights, the producer accidentally heard a song by Frank Sinatra Strangers in the Night , in which the phraseDooby-Dooby-Doo. This inspired him to create a new character and at the same time change the title and overall concept of the series to a more comedic one.
The series about the adventures of the Mystery Company – Velma, Fred, Daphne, Shaggy and their talking dog Scooby-Doo – turned out to be a bull’s eye and became one of the most valuable items in Hanna-Barber’s portfolio. Since its first broadcast in September 1969, the studio has produced (under its own banner and as part of Warner Bros. Animation since 2001) 11 television series and over 20 feature films. The phenomenon also spread to other branches of the entertainment industry. Nowadays, themed comics and computer games are also available on the market, and fans can enjoy countless goodies featuring Scooby-Doo heroes – from drinks to clothing and stationery accessories to toothbrushes.
