The James Bond series quickly stole the hearts of many viewers and, it is worth emphasizing, continues to steal them! There are many reasons for her popularity, but – believing the specialists running the Bond Breakdown website – some agents, like the films in which they appeared, seem unique. According to the IMDB ranking, the best-rated installment of the series is Casino Royale . Right behind her are Goldfinger , Skyfall , From Russia with Love , Dr No , Goldeneye , The Spy who Loved Me , Thunderball and others. The great advantage of older films about agent 007 poses many challenges to new cinema propositions. WhetherWill No Time to Die live up to the viewers’ expectations?
Retired agent?
James Bond (Daniel Craig) has retired from active duty and is currently spending his time in Jamaica enjoying life. When his old friend Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) of the CIA turns to him for help, he doesn’t hesitate, however, and renews his killing license. A seemingly simple mission to save a kidnapped scientist leads Bond on the trail of a mysterious villain – Lucifer Safin (Rami Malek) – with a new, extremely dangerous technology. Will the mission of agent 007 be successful this time?
Lured by attractive trailers, we watch Don’t Time To Die With Commitment. And it should be because there is a lot going on in the movie *. I don’t want to serve spoilers, so no details of the plot, spread over 157 minutes of the film, will not be mentioned in this review. However, I dare to say that this is undoubtedly one of the boldest productions in the entire franchise – first of all, quality, not quantity, but also the creation of expressive characters that will be remembered for a long time.
There is no shortage of emotions
Daniel Craig says goodbye to the James Bond series, ending a certain stage in both his life and the life of the protagonist. Rami Malek, a film antagonist and a formidable opponent of agent 007, is slightly weaker, but also interesting. Watching It’s Not Time To Die I had the greatest fun with the many easter eggs . Their presence encouraged me to recall other adventures of Agent 007, including You only live twice or In Her Majesty’s Secret Service. I will also reveal that in this production I was delighted with the music composed by Hans Zimmer (he was supported by guitarist Johnny Marr and producer Steve Mazzaro). Huge congratulations are also due to Billie Eilish performing the title song from the movie (she joined the group of artists distinguished for the universe – Shirley Bassey, Madonna, Adele, Sam Smith).
About the DVD release
The Galapagos proposal I am reviewing can be considered rather modest (although other editions have also appeared on the market – Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray). On the album, hidden in an aesthetic box, there is nothing but a film. Yes, we can choose the language (soundtrack and subtitles), and go to selected scenes, but there is no need to look for additional materials. Pity. For my part, I recommend watching It is not time to die in the original, then – in my opinion – the feelings are the most intense. Perhaps Not Time To Die does not deserve to be called the best film about the adventures of Agent 007, but it presents an original concept, culminating in an unexpected ending.
