Brandon Sanderson, a famous fantasy novel writer, recently shocked fans with a statement about his plans for 2023 – as many as four new publications by this author are going to be published.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the author claims, he had time to write as many as four new works. It is worth noting that he had to try hard to keep this information secret and only after two years of working on new works to announce his plans to the world. Only his immediate family knew about the making of the books, even editors and people involved in the promotion of his books found out about the upcoming works at the end of last year.
Three of Sanderson’s four new publications are to be set in the Cosmere universe, which is already well known from his previous novels. The fourth of the works is to be something completely new, according to the author himself.
Interestingly, Sanderson abandoned the classic publishing method in favor of setting up a Kickstarter fundraiser to sell books directly to his fans. Immediately after he announced his plans for 2023. his Kickstarter campaign began to hit record sums (three hours after the video with this big news, it was already $ 4.7 million on it). There will be an e-book, audiobook or hardcover physical version available for purchase.
