Movie Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness officially has a new director. It was Sam Raimi - a director known, for example, from the Spider-Man trilogy with Tobey Maguir in the lead role.
Earlier this year, we learned that due to different visions about the film, Scott Derrickson left the director’s stool of the Doctor Strange sequel . Soon after that, the first information appeared that Sam Raimi was to take the baton after him.
Now this information has been confirmed in one of the interviews in which the director was asked about a scene from Spider-Man 2 where a reference to the character of Strange appears. He then expressed his infatuation with this character, and also revealed that he was involved in the work on the film.
“I loved Doctor Strange as a kid, but he was always behind Spider-Man and Batman. He was probably among my five favorite characters. ” She later adds, “It was extremely original, but when that moment was in Spider-Man 2 , I never would have thought we would ever make a movie about him, so it’s really funny that this point was there. Then I would like to know that I will be involved in this project. “
The premiere of the second installment of Strange with Benedict Cumberbatch was originally scheduled for May 7, 2021, but was postponed to November 5, 2021. It is worth mentioning that the film is to be directly related to the WandaVision series
