Rubeus Hagrid, Keeper of Keys and Hunter at Hogwarts

Only one person “Harry Potter” fans associate with “Cholibek”, “six years to me!” or a not very sensible fondness for magical creatures. Happy birthday, Hagrid!

On December 6, 1928, one of Harry Potter’s best friends was born. It was he who introduced the young wizard to the world of magic, helping him take his first steps in the role of a full-fledged wizard. He was also the first to provide the protagonist with care and care, which he had been lacking throughout his entire life.

Before he met the Boy Who Lived, however, his life was not easy either. He was born as the son of a wizard and a giantess, which resulted in his above-average height. On the other hand, he inherited a good-natured, gentle character from his father, contrasting with his stature.

Hagrid, however, was not fortunate enough to grow up in a full family. His mother, Frydwulfa, returned to the giants when her son was only three years old, and she herself died shortly thereafter. So he was brought up only by his father, who, unfortunately, also died. Hagrid, who was only 11 at the time, had only himself. However, he was supported by Albus Dumbledore, the teacher of Transfiguration at the time, later director of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There, in 1940, Hagrid was assigned to Gryffindor and began his studies.

In the third year, the hero came into possession of an extremely dangerous acromantula, which he called Aragog. 50 years later, this spider attacked Harry and Ron as they tried to unravel the mystery of the chamber of secrets and Salazar Slytherin’s heir. He also revealed to them that while Hagrid was accused of opening her up for the first time and expelled from school, Aragog never attacked anyone on the school grounds.

After breaking his wand, Hagrid had nowhere to go. Then, on Dumbledore’s initiative, Hagrid became a gamekeeper at Hogwarts and lived in a hut on the grounds of the castle. Between the wizards, a great friendship, loyalty and unlimited trust were born.

Hagrid also became a member of the Order of the Phoenix during the First War with Voldemort. It was he who brought little Harry out of the ruins of his home in Godric’s Valley after the death of his parents and became one of his closest friends during his stay at Hogwarts.
