Groot and Rocket are undoubtedly one of the favorite heroes of the marvel series fans. The nervous raccoon along with his calm and oak-strong friend cannot be missing from the upcoming game.
Marvel’s art director : Guardians of the Galaxy – Bruno Gauthier-Leblanc – talked about the project and what was the greatest difficulty in creating their characters.
I have to admit that Rocket was the easiest to design because it is very direct with what he likes. He likes explosions, grenades, and DIY. We had to include this in the design, as did his goggles which are actually tied to the game itself. He has a goatee fastened with a bead that looks like Groot because they are best friends. He also has his weapon that transforms into a backpack, of course it is twice as large.
Gauther-Leblanc said about Roket. Groot, on the other hand, turned out to be a bit more of a challenge.
Groot was, surprisingly, the most difficult to design. We wanted it to have armor plates and slowly began to get the impression that it looked like a huge moss. Since Rocket and Groot are best mates, we found that Rocket should always be able to personalize Groot. We mean this is his moss so he put a harness on him so he can climb on it, sit on it, use it as his tower and it’s also game related, not just story related, so Groot and Rocket are linked together as a project.
The game launches on October 26 and will be available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
