According to the news , the studio will be known as Riot Sydney from now on and will work with League of Legends developers Valoranta and Riot ‘s technical and development teams.
We are very excited to bring these talented developers to Riot. The rioters who have had the chance to partner with Sydney team members are confident not only in the technology they’ve built over the years, but more importantly in the people who built it. Naz (Naresh Hirani, Riot Sydney’s head of development) and the development teams have a long history of work that will complement Riot’s ability to deliver quality to our players. We are really looking forward to working with them.
– said Marc Merril, co-founder and president of Riot Games .
According to the announcement, the newly christened Riot Sydney will help with the development of Riot games. Developers will continue to operate in their original office. However, the publishing team will still remain part of Wargaming. Furthermore, Wargaming will retain the Bigworld Technology tool that helps power up multiplayer MMOs.
Naresh Hirani also made a statement on the upcoming revision:
Being part of Wargaming has been a phenomenal journey for us over the last 10 years and has helped the studio spread its wings. We’ve been really impressed with the cultural similarities we’ve experienced with Riot, and we can’t wait to bring our overall development expertise to the individual teams. On behalf of the entire team, I can say that we are very excited to be joining Riot and helping deliver an amazing experience for players.
