Of course, Capcom could not miss this year’s PlayStation State of Play event. The company reminded fans about the upcoming remake of the iconic Resident Evil 4 , and finally confirmed that the new version of the four will receive a demo version earlier.
A thoroughly refreshed Resident Evil 4 had its share during the PlayStation State of Play show, which basically surprised no one. During the event, Capcom confirmed the information everyone was hoping for: Resident’s remake will be available in a demo version earlier. For fans of the series, this is not a big surprise, because the previous installments were similar. Nevertheless, it’s still a welcome announcement for gamers looking forward to putting Resident Evil 4 Remake to the test .
A teaser captioned ‘special demo coming soon’ was revealed during State of Play as part of the Resident Evil 4 show . Various elements of the game, certainly known to the fans of the original, were shown, but also some changes in terms of enemies, QTE fragments, or story progression were presented. The message about the Resident demo was given at the very end.
There is probably a catch to all of this. Although the demo is officially coming, it is very possible that it will only be released on PS4 and PS5 consoles. Only these platforms were included in the announcement of the demo. On the other hand, this could be due to the fact that it took place during a PlayStation exclusive event.
If the demo isn’t released on other platforms, it won’t be a surprise either. For example, Resident Evil Village received two demos: one with a village and one with a castle – which were only available on PlayStation. Only the full version was also released on Xbox consoles or PCs.
The upcoming demo is only part of the additions planned for the new Resident Evil 4 . In addition to a thorough rework of the game, of course, fans can count on the DLC, although not all people were delighted with this fact . The information about the VR mode was well received . It will only be available to PS5 owners with PS VR2 goggles, but this is still a positive signal heralding further support for VR technology in Capcom’s games.
