Ever since Max Payne 3 was made in 2012 , the series has been dormant and many have wondered if it would ever return. Remedy has confirmed that it is currently developing a remake of the first two Max Payne games to appear on the Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5 and PC. On their preparation, the studio will cooperate with Rockstar Games, which in turn is to finance new versions of the classics. The rework is in an early stage of concept right now, so it will likely be a while before we see or start playing the game. Rockstar Games co-founder Sam Houser made a statement noting his enthusiasm for the project.
We were excited when our longtime friends at Remedy approached us with a request to remake the original Max Payne games. We’re huge fans of the series the Remedy team has created over the years and we can’t wait to play these new versions, Houser said.
It’s unclear whether Remedy will change anything in the story or just upgrade older versions. For example, in Dead Space , the story has been slightly changed to open the doors of sequels. Will it be the same for Max Payne ? Let’s also add that the studio is also currently working on the long-awaited Alan Wake 2 , which may mean that we will wait a while for new versions of the famous TPS.
