Speculation since last year is finally over. Naughty Dog is actually working on a revamped version of the iconic post-apocalyptic game. We even know the release date.

The disclosure of this news took place in a rather unusual way. The game’s existence was leaked through the official PlayStation website, where it was “accidentally” added to the list of upcoming titles. The leak happened a few hours ago and the production has already been removed from the site, but as is well known, nothing is lost on the web. Part of the leak is also the trailer and the game’s release date. The Lat of Us Part I will debut on September 2 this year on PS5.

According to the information provided at the end of the trailer, the title will also see a version for personal computers. Unfortunately, in its case it is only known that it is still being worked on. So what can we expect from this “remake”? Certainly the improved graphics and the image quality has been raised to 4K. The game is also expected to come out immediately in a package with the Left Behind add-on . Besides, it is not known whether Naughty Dog will decide to make any other changes, e.g. in the plot.

The very rumors that appeared last year about the remake of the first The Last of Us were rather surprising. Originally, the title debuted almost exactly nine years ago on PS3, and a year later its remaster was also released on PS4. Thanks to the backward compatibility of the latest console from Sony, you can play it without problems in a tuned version from the previous generation machines. Does it make sense to buy the same game for the third time if the only change is slightly improved graphics? We’ll have to wait for Sony or Naughty Dog to reveal more details.
