The subject of the diversity of sexual orientations and gender identities is not strongly present in Polish fantasy - it's time to change that. Let us show together that there is no limit to diversity in fantasy and that there is a place for every identity in fantastic worlds. Alpaka Publishing House is waiting for your stories, essays, comics, poems and illustrations!
Rainbow and Fantastic – selection of texts for the anthology
The variety of fantasy worlds and the variety of human identities fit together perfectly. Fantasy in our country, however, rarely reaches for LGBTQ + themes – such as homosexual relations; bisexuality and pansexuality; asexuality and aromaticity; non-binary and transgender; intersexuality; non-monogamous relationships and social forms other than the so-called traditional family model. We want to show that you can and that it is worth reaching for such elements when describing fantastic worlds, so we invite you to submit texts for a free anthology , which will be published by the Alpaka Publishing Group .
Our goal is to encourage the exploration of the multitude of gender identities and sexual orientations , and to familiarize both authors and readers with the idea of literature about romantic themes based not only on monogamous relationships between women and men. Queering does not end with relationships, of course – one of the properties of fantasy that is especially dear to us is exploring all possible options; showing that our reality is just one of countless versions of what could be, and showing goals that we could pursue – and futures that we cannot allow.
Let us show together that there is no limit to diversity in fantasy and that there is a place for every identity in fantastic worlds .
