The creators of the Quake series gave the fans a nice surprise. The refreshed original game is now available for all major platforms – PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. An upgrade has also been announced for the PS5 and Xbox Series X | S consoles, which is expected to be available soon. In addition, the title immediately went to Xbox Game Pass. What’s new for players? Well, the production, first of all, underwent the process of graphic improvement. Have been updated, among others character models and lighting, and the whole thing now works in 4K quality. A crossplay has been made available, i.e. the possibility of clashes between players from various platforms. Preserved original soundtrack including the main theme by Trent Reznor. In addition, you can play the original campaign with old and brand new expansions.
A feature that the community will probably like is the support for mods, both fan and developer-made. Among the official ones there is the well-known Quake 64, and more have already been announced.
