Pyrkon 2021 will not take place! The event was postponed to 2022

Until the last moment, the organizers of Pyrkon fought for a fantasy festival to be held this year. It has already been decided to postpone it to July 2021. Now it turns out that there will be no Pyrkon at all this year.

Pyrkon users were informed about this decision a few hours ago on Pyrkon’s official profiles in the most important social media, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Despite the previous efforts of the event organizers, it was finally decided to postpone it to June 2022 (June 17-19, 2022).

This is yet another shift of Pyrkon since the outbreak of the pandemic. Initially, it was decided to postpone Pyrkon 2020 to May 2021, but in February this date was changed to July, in order to completely resign from the festival this year. There are several reasons for this decision.

First of all, there is still no top-down decision to organize mass events in the current sanitary regime and to defrost the exhibition industry. The lack of such regulations and the uncertainty of when they will appear – if they will appear in the coming months, prevents the organizers from properly preparing the event, even in a limited form.

Another issue is the fact that on the grounds of the Poznań International Fair, the annual venue of the festival, there is now a temporary hospital and one of the vaccination centers that will not be closed until July 2021. Faced with such difficulties, the most common-sense solution was to move Pyrkon again.

Importantly, tickets purchased for the previous festival date remain valid and valid, so you don’t have to worry if you already have them. The organizers also assure that although this year’s Pyrkon will not take place, other activities and smaller fantasy-related events are planned, which will start in the summer.
