Comedies for a good start to the year

In a triangle is a crazy comedy awarded with the Golden Palm, the action of which takes place on a luxury yacht, among the richest people in the world. An ocean of champagne, a sea of money and a captain who always sails against the tide (a bravura performance by Woody Harrelson) – this is how a cruise fit for our times begins. Celebrity model couple Carl (Harris Dickinson) and Yaya (Charlbi Dean) travel on the ship, but their trip quickly goes viral. A sudden storm sends the seafood back to where it came from, destroys the yacht and blows up the entire social hierarchy with it. The laughter-provoking film by Ruben Östlund, one of Europe’s best directors, is a merciless satire on the rich and a great metaphor for our times.

After the European production, the next premiere is A Brilliant Wedding, an American comedy with Jennifer Lopez, Josh Duhamel and Jennifer Coolidge, who is experiencing a great acting comeback. We will see a story about one wedding that can lead to many funerals. Darcy and Tom love each other to death and finally decided to formalize their relationship. A dream wedding is supposed to be different than all others, which is why a luxurious event takes place on an exotic island. However, before the sacramental “yes” is said, the confusion surrounding the preparations for the wedding will suck the remnants of enthusiasm out of the lovers. Skirmishes with the groom’s mother will certainly not help in igniting the fading passion, let alone the unexpected appearance of the former bride. When everything foreshadows the coming disaster, it turns out that it could be even worse. Modern pirates, armed to the teeth, will invade the island, who will take the wedding guests hostage and demand a gigantic ransom. The island lies hundreds of kilometers from civilization, so you can’t count on the help of the services. In this situation, Darcy and Tom must face the gangsters alone to save themselves and their beloved family. In this situation, the oath “I will not leave you until death” will take on a whole new meaning.

In your place – the last premiere of the weekend is a Polish comedy about swapping bodies. A couple of heroes, a young married couple with a son and an apartment in a picturesque area, are experiencing problems in their relationship, dangerously close to divorce. They will be helped by an unexpected body swap, because each of them will be able to look at each other from a different perspective. The main roles are played by Paulina Gałązka and Miron Jagniewski.
