“Puss in Boots 2” – we know the film’s release date

This year, it will be 10 years since the world premiere of DreamWorks’ movie “Puss in Boots”. After years of waiting, we have good news. A sequel to the hit spin-off “Shrek” is being created.

In 2011, Puss in Boots received his solo adventures – a character who debuted in Shrek 2 and won the hearts of the fans of the series. The voice of the main character in the original version was lent by Antonio Banderas and in the Polish version by Wojciech Malajkat. In the upcoming sequel, they too will play the role of the mysterious Cat. Salma Hayek also played in the first installment of Puss in Boots , but it has not yet been revealed whether she will return as Kitty Kociłapka. The first film was a huge financial success – grossing $ 555 million worldwide.

According to Deadline, the creators of the film revealed when we see the new adventures of Puss in Boots . The premiere is scheduled for September 23, 2022 . The official title of the animation has also been changed. Initially, the production was to be called Puss in Boots 2: Nine Lives & 40 Thieves ( Puss in Boots 2: 9 lives and 40 thieves ). Currently, the title is Puss in Boots: The Last Wish ( Puss in Boots: The last request ).

The first film presented the viewers with the fate of the famous Cat before meeting Shrek. As a kitten, he lived in an orphanage. He was framed by his friend Humpty Dumpty for several crimes and was forced to flee the city. He decided to find the legendary goose that lays golden eggs. When he found out where the magic beans that were supposed to help him find the animal were, he went to get them into a marriage that everyone is afraid of. While trying to steal seeds, he met another cat who was interfering with his plan. It turned out that this cat is really a kitten who worked for the old, hated friend of Kota – Humpty Dumpty. Humpty wanted to go on a goose journey with them. The cat gave in and together with the newly met cat Kitty Kociłapka and Humptym set off on an unforgettable adventure.

What can we expect from the sequel? For now, it has been revealed that the title character will discover that his passion for adventure has taken its toll. He has already used eight out of nine lives, leaving only one life behind, so he embarks on a spectacular journey to find the mythical “last wish” and restore his nine lives.

Initially, Puss in Boots 2 had direct Bob Persichetti ( Spider-Man universe ). Eventually, Joel Crawford was persuaded to make a film by DreamWorks, who recently produced the animated film, The Croods 2: A New Era , and also worked as the storyteller on the three parts of Kung Fu Panda and Shrek Forever .

It is possible that soon we will also know the plans of DreamWorks studio for the movie Madagascar 4 , the premiere of which was to coincide with the sequel of Puss in Boots .
