The visual setting is a big plus
The set includes an aesthetic box in the form of a cylinder, in three dominant colors – white, black and light blue. The same color style was also used for its content. The game consists of 150 cards with passwords, a ring for attaching cards, 2 pieces, a drawing pad, a wear marker, a 90-second hourglass and instructions. All elements are made of good quality artificial materials and paper. The whole thing looks very nice.
A few words about mechanics
The game is designed for 4 or more people, and one game lasts about 30 minutes. The participants of the game are divided into two teams, they put the hoop on the upper part of the package and place their pawns on the starting field on the edge of the lid. Then they insert 3 random cards with passwords into the slots of the rim and appoint a person who will show, hum, draw or describe 5 passwords on the card drawn by him within 90 seconds. The key is to present them in such a way as not to say the forbidden word in red on each card. It is not that simple!
There are plenty of slogans and they apply to literally every field, starting from describing the flavors of crisps, through humming Krawczyk’s songs, and ending with drawing types of cosmetics. The group receives points for guessing the passwords. After pouring sand in the hourglass, if a given team could not guess a password, the opponents can try to fight for additional points. Then the teams move their pawns as many squares as they scored during a given round and rotate the hoop one area clockwise. Used cards with passwords are supplemented by the next ones from the deck. The game ends when the pawn reaches the end field.
Interesting solutions
Although the position is largely based on guessing passwords, the double-scored areas and those requiring drawing an additional card are an interesting diversion. We also have special fields called “The Last Straight”. If there is a pawn from one of the groups on it – and no card is assigned to it – the team chooses passwords for its opponents.
The Hint game is an interesting alternative for fans of typical puns and players who prefer formulas based on active interaction with others. Thanks to clear rules, interesting mechanics, a multitude of cards and four ways of presenting passwords, the position can be a permanent element of every house party.
