Unlike most of the upcoming big games, Final Fantasy XVI is talked about briefly, and most of the currently available information is more speculations and hypotheses of fans than official announcements from developers. One of the main topics among the players is the question of the creation of the PC version, and this is what the designer of the new Final Fantasy decided to confront  .

The PC edition of  Final Fantasy XVI is currently one of the most mysterious topics on the gaming market. The common opinion is that the PC game will be released six months after the launch of PlayStation 5. However, there are no official sources that could confirm this rumor. During a recent livestream, producer Naoki ‘Yoshi-P’ Yoshida made a joke about the reports, telling viewers ‘don’t worry about it, get a PS5!’ The designer most likely simply cannot reveal anything about possible additional releases, at least until Sony is no longer entitled to exclusive.

Yoshi-P’s comment was translated into English by @Genki-JPN and can be found in the tweet below:

No one said a word about the release of the PC version. Why is the PC version said to be released 6 months later? Don’t worry about it, buy a PS5! (laugh). Sorry, I overreacted. We did our best [for FFXVI], so please look forward to it.

While Square Enix is currently unable to talk about  Final Fantasy XVI on PC , this was somewhat confirmed during the game’s presentation at PlayStation Showcase, where the game was described as ‘exclusive to PlayStation’. However, at the bottom of the screen there is a small inscription ‘also available on PC’. The November trailer  of Final Fantasy XVI pointed to a six-month window between the console and PC versions. It’s possible that this window will be even longer , as happened with  Final Fantasy VII Remake . Unfortunately, the truth will remain a secret until Square Enix itself decides to reveal the details.

Final Fantasy XVI  is scheduled for June 22, 2023, and its plot will take place in the world of Valisthea. Players will take on the role of Clive, who will be accompanied by the wolf, Torgal. A surprising change for many is that the sixteenth  Final Fantasy will be the first main part of the series rated as ‘M for Mature’ by the ESRB, i.e. intended only for adults. An M rating is typically given to productions that experience ‘blood, partial nudity, sexual themes, strong language and violence’. It sounds like a bold departure from previous views, but how will it be in practice? Players have to wait another 6 months for this.
