French developer Ubisoft has released a new, short update in connection with the refreshed Prince of Persia: Sands of Time . We heard about the game for the first time in 2020, and over the next two years, the development of the project turned out to be a big challenge. Initially, the release date was set for 2021, followed by several delays . Earlier this year, Ubisoft announced a developer change from Ubisoft Montreal to Ubisoft Mumbai. On the surface it sounds like a vision of creating a better game, thus its premiere still seems rather distant.

In a new post on the official Ubisoft website, the publisher explained that Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake was not canceled under any circumstances . The surprising fact is that Ubisoft has nevertheless decided to withdraw the pre-orders for the game and, where possible, refund the money to its customers. Although this information seems to take the Prince of Persia further away from the premiere, the French company also emphasized that the preorders will return with the announcement of the new release date.
In addition, Ubisoft assured that at the moment they will not “resurrect” any other game from the Prince of Persia series . Although a lot of fans probably hope to recreate the other parts (e.g. the iconic Warrior Soul ), the publisher claims that ‘there are no plans for a remake of any other PoP title .
