A century before the events of Game of Thrones , as two unlikely heroes roamed Westeros… the young, naive but brave knight Sir Duncan the Tall and his little henchman Egg. The action takes place at a time when House Targaryen still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet died from living memory. Many wonderful experiences await them, powerful enemies and dangerous adventures that will test their extraordinary friendship.
This synopsis outlines the action that will cover the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series . The project is working under the title A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight , with HBO responsible for production. The series will be based on George R. R. Martin’s short story series, or Tales from the Seven Kingdoms .
George RR Martin is rumored to write and executive produce The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms , alongside Ryan Condal, House of the Dragon writer and showrunner , Ira Parker, executive producer of House of the Dragon , and Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon executive producer Vince Gerardis. The Tales of the Seven Kingdoms books written by Martin about Dunk and Egg include The Knight Errant (1998), The Sworn Sword (2003) and The Mysterious Knight (2010). All three were collected into a single volume titled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms in 2015.
In the world of Game of Thrones, the titular knight errant is compared to a samurai rōnin – a warrior without a master who goes where fate leads him. Sir Duncan the Tall (also known as Dunk) is one of the most famous knight errants in legend. He traveled the Seven Kingdoms and had many adventures with the young Prince Aegon V Targaryen, who served as his squire under the name Egg.
As the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms trilogy takes place only 90 years before the events of Game of Thrones , there are likely to be many significant connections between the series in development, the events of House of the Dragon that preceded it , and the events that follow in Game of Thrones. The new series may explore Aegon V’s youth, but the story of House Targaryen also touches on his older brother, Aemon Targaryen, the man who abdicated the Iron Throne to serve in the Night’s Watch and help Jon Snow find his true identity and destiny as a Targaryen. Aegon and Aemon existed at a time when the conflict of House Targaryen known as the Dance of the Dragons had finally ended and stability in Targaryen rule seemed assured – until it collapsed.

How many Game of Thrones spin-offs will there be ?
The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Knight Bus is the third of the Game of Thrones prequels announced by HBO , although only one project ( House of the Dragon ) has been realized so far. Although the series about the Night’s Watch had already been filmed, the project was abandoned. There are also rumors that a Dragonborn prequel to Aegon the Conqueror is in ‘serious consideration’ by HBO. In addition, a Game of Thrones sequel was announced to continue the Jon Snow/Aegon Targaryen story, but the news did not receive much attention.
