Prequel “The 100”: The CW confirms work on production

Niemal rok minął od zakończenia serialu The 100,  ale wciąż niewiele jest informacji na temat prequela serii. Ostatnio o projekcie wypowiedział się sam dyrektor generalny The CW.

Mark Pedowitz, who is what we are talking about, met with journalists last Tuesday to share with them the network’s plans for this fall. A few months ago, in January, the spin-off of the Arrow series was canceled  but so far it was rather silent about the sequel to  The 100. It was only known that The CW plans to further expand the already known science fiction universe. Now the fans have finally received confirmation of this information. In the aforementioned interview with media representatives, Pedowitz said:

I bet you guys will be shocked by this: we are still discussing it. This is not being implemented in any form yet, but discussions are still ongoing.

The prequel tells about the events taking place 97 years before the events known from the beginning of the series. The 100  focused on a group of one hundred young people – prisoners who were sent to an abandoned Earth in an attempt to re-colonize it. Another title from the universe will present the destruction of the planet, which forced people to flee into space, but also a group of survivors of the catastrophe. Those who survive will recreate society and learn to live in it.

Jason Rothenberg, creator of the original series, will be working on this venture. As he admitted in one of the interviews for the portal ComicBook, ideas for spin-off  The 100  had a few, but in the end won for the prequel. Which made the most sense, because viewers could see the introduction to it in one of the episodes of the seventh – last season. It was he who portrayed Armageddon responsible for the destruction of civilization on Earth, becoming the gateway to a completely new story.

However, it is difficult to say when exactly we will know her. We are left to wait for the next news on production.
