Everything seems to indicate that RoboCop is back on the screens. While production is still in the planning stage, original film writer Edward Neumeier remains optimistic. If he can convince the producers of his plan, we will soon be able to see a new series based on a story about a famous cyborg.
Fans of the story about the cult policeman-cyborg were hoping for another sequel. However, Neumeier presents a different, original concept, on which he collaborates with the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer label.
The newest RoboCop is not only supposed to be a series, but also focuses on the character of Dick Jones (Ronny Cox) and his past. So we will not see the title character, but it is an opportunity to look at the entire universe from a wider angle.
As the screenwriter explains: “nobody starts out as bad.” So it will be an interesting perspective, allowing you to get to know the protagonist’s motives and see the full transformation of Richard Jones into Dick Jones. Neumeier said the production would have all the best elements of the original movie, but without RoboCop. The new concept opens up threads and possibilities that were previously not available to writers.
