Jason David Frank was born on September 4, 1973 in Covina, California. Interestingly, his grandparents came from Poland. From an early age he devoted himself to martial arts. He started with karate at The Red Dragon Karate School and then successfully tried his hand at Shōtōkan, Wadō-ryū, taekwondo, judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Thai boxing, Wing Chun, Jeet Kune Do and Aikido. At the age of 18, he founded his own school, where he ran his own project of mixed martial arts called “Toso Kune Do”. In 1994, he was inducted into the American Kung Fu Federation’s Hall of Fame. In 2000, he received the “Program Direct Award”, in 2001 won the “Centurion Club Award”. On June 28, 2003, he received the title of Champion of the Year in American karateand was inducted into the World Karate Union Hall of Fame on June 28, 2003. In 2005 he was honored with the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classics Master Appreciation Award. In 2007, he was inducted into the Black Belt Hall of Fame in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He also had a brief MMA career in 2010, with an amateur record of 3-0 and a professional record of 1-0, winning by submission.
He participated in the first auditions for Power Rangers . He auditioned for the role of Jason Lee Scott, the Red Ranger, but Austin St. John. In 1993, he auditioned again and was cast as Tommy Oliver, the Green Ranger. This character is considered iconic by many. He brought dynamism to the series, effectively overshadowing other characters featured in Power Rangers . Critics and fans appreciated his acting contribution that stood out above the kitsch that was inscribed in the series about teenage heroes. In the first series, “Zeo”, “Turbo”, “Dino Thunder” he played the following warriors: Green, White, Red and Black. He appeared in a total of 242 episodes of Power Rangers.Most recently, Frank was involved in the production of Legend of White Dragon.
