Last June it was announced that Amazon was planning to make a second season of the series Good Omens. Now the director Douglas Mackinnon has revealed that the filming phase of production is now complete!
The second season of Good Omens is set to start with Crowley (Tennant) and Aziraphale (Sheen) living peacefully among the people in London’s Soho. According to Amazon, however, the situation is once again beginning to take on an apocalyptic character, and an unexpected messenger will reveal a surprising secret to the heroes.
It is already known that Benedict Cumberbatch and Frances McDormand will not return to the roles of Satan and God. The main characters played by David Tennant and Michael Sheen will undoubtedly appear in it. Neil Gaiman will re-write the script. Fans can also count on the return of Jon Hamm as Archangel Gabriel.
Good Omens 2 just would not be the same without the astonishing Jon Hamm as Gabriel, everyone’s worst boss. The story that Terry Pratchett and I created all those years ago continues to take us from London’s Soho into Heaven and Hell. It’s a delight for me to bring back characters we loved (or hated) and bring in new characters, from the shiniest top floors of Heaven to the dankest basements of Hell, to love (or to hate, or to love to hate or hate to love). All of them are part of the strange and unusually beloved family of Good Omens.
Other returning cast members include Doon Mackian as Archangel Michael and Gloria Obianyo as Uriel. They will be joined by the new angels played by Liz Carr (Saraqael) and Quelin Sepulveda (Muriel). Shelley Connhas of Brideerton has also been cast as “a key figure from hell.”
The show’s first season ended similar to a book whose sequel was never written, leaving some Good Omens fans wondering what the second season would be about. In fact, one fan expressed concern about the sequel: “I mean, there is no Good Omens 2 book! What, will he just make up a story? ” – someone wrote on Twitter. “Um… This is how the first Good Omen was made…” replied Gaiman.
The premiere date of the second season of the series Dobry Omen is not yet known. On Twitter, however, you can see the post of the series director, who boasts of the end of the shooting for the continuation of the title.
