It’s likely that game developer Atlus is working on a new Persona fighting game . In recent years, no installment has appeared apart from the Persona 4 Arena Ultimax remaster.
Following the release of Persona 5 in 2017, Atlus continued to release many different sub-series related spin-offs. This list includes Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, Persona 5 Strikers, the upcoming Persona 5 Tactica , and the expanded Persona 5 Royal. Interestingly, no fighting game has appeared in recent years apart from the Persona 4 Arena Ultimax remaster, which appeared in 2022. Fortunately for those who wanted a new Persona fighting game, it looks like a new installment is in the works.
According to @MbKKssTBhz5 on Twitter, who has leaked accurate information about Persona in the past , Atlus is still working on a new fighting game. In response to one of the inquiries in social media, it was said that the original concept of this new fighting game was created in 2015. Although a lot of time has passed since the idea was created, the game itself is somehow still alive. That being said, whatever form of title exists today is said to be quite different from that original concept.
Atlus currently has several Persona titles for release in the future. In addition to the aforementioned Persona 5 Tactica, a remake of Persona 3, titled Persona 3 Reload, is also due to be released in early 2024 . Persona 6 is also likely in development, even though Atlus itself has yet to announce it. Moving beyond the Persona series , Atlus is also working on Metaphor: ReFantazio , a new role-playing game. With all that said, it’s hard to say when a new fighting game might come out, but it’s certainly something Persona 4 Arena fans still hope for.
