After adapting the series of games “Monster Hunter” director Paul WS Anderson has another project. This time he will make a film based on one of the short stories by the creator of “Songs of Ice and Fire”. This will be Anderson’s next project, starring his wife, Milla Jovovich.
The story that will be screened this time is In the Lost Lands . After the success of Game of Thrones, few works by George RR Martin remained unpurchased by HBO or major film studios. This is one of the last. In addition to the aforementioned Jovovich, in the production we will also see the well-known, among others from Marvel Studios movies, Dave Bautista.
According to the Deadline website, the film will tell the story of the queen who wants to get the gift of shapeshifting. For this purpose, she hires the sorceress Gray Alys – played by Jovovich – whom she sends to the title Lost Lands. She will be accompanied by the tramp Boyce (Dave Bautista). During an adventure dealing with issues such as good and evil, wanderers will face both hostile people and demons.
The filming theme of In the Lost Lands first appeared during the promotion of Monster Hunter . In one of the interviews, Milla Jovovich admitted that she wanted to take up this project a few years ago, but then the idea did not work out. However, she remained in contact with the author of the script, who also had the screening rights. When the actress introduced the idea to her husband, he was very enthusiastic about it. Anderson and Jovovich have been fine-tuning the script together over the past few years.
So far, there is no information when the shooting of the film would start.
