Matt Aitken, nominated for an Oscar for special effects, recently spoke to Adam Barnhardt of ComicBook.com about Eternals and revealed that Oswalt is not just voicing the character. He did all the scenes himself, and he did everything on his knees. Recently, ComicBook.com revealed the revelation on Twitter, and the actor referred to it:
Jim Starlin, creator of Pip and many other classic Marvel comic characters , also spoke to ComicBook.com and said he couldn’t imagine a better person to voice Pipa. He commented on Oswalt and Kevin Feige’s casting:
Oh yeah, I think he’s perfect for that. When I listened to it on the MODOK series, it delighted me. When I watched the first episode I had this: er, it’s okay, and then I watched the second episode and got hooked. Then I laughed for the rest of the episodes. Pattons is always such an actor who has a wide range of possibilities and I think he is great at what he does. Every time I’ve seen Kevin Feige in the last two years, I’ve asked him about Pip’s fate. And apparently I have more influence than I thought. [laughs] But to tell you the truth, I’ve been working on these things years ahead and he probably laughed that every time I saw him over the years, I would say, Hey, when will we finally see Pip? Then he mumbled something incomprehensible, realizing that we had many more months to do before something happened.
