Pam Grier joins the cast of the prequel for “Pet Sematary”

As the production of the Pet Sematary prequel is scheduled to start next month, the cast of the film has increased again. This time she was joined by Pam Grier, the 1997 Jackie Brown star .

The character that the actress will play is still unknown, but we already know that Lindsey Beer ( Sierra Burgess is a loser ) is responsible for directing the title , and Jeff Buhler – the screenwriter of the 2019 original – is responsible for the directing of the title .

Stephen King’s novel of the same name was first transferred to the big screen in 1989, and thanks to the success that was achieved at that time, it was re-edited two years ago. The upcoming sequel to this production will tell the story before the events of Pet Sematary, when the main characters’ family discovered a mysterious cemetery in the forest behind their house.

In King’s book, as in both of the film adaptations, the story focuses on the Creeds who have moved to rural Maine and struggle to adapt to their new surroundings. When their cat dies, the head of the family decides to bury it on the site of the former Indian burial site, near the eponymous “trampoline” for pets, only to bring the animal back to life. And when the tragic death of one of the Creed children occurs, the father does the same, unaware that it will initiate a series of terrifying events.

What the prequel tells about is still a mystery, but it will feature young Jud Crandall , the older neighbor of the main characters of the first part, which may suggest the plot of the Pet Sematary.

Jackson White, Forrest Goodluck, Jack Mulhern, Natalie Alyn Lind and Isabella Star LeBlanc will also star in the film.

The potential release date for the new Pet Sematary is unknown, although it is known that it will be a Paramount + exclusive title abroad.
