Let us remind you that this will not be the only change in the ranking system. There will also be modifications to the interface, SR (skill rating) system, rewards and much more.
It is SR that will be the biggest change, as this system will be replaced with the new Skill Tier Divisions. It will resemble a mechanism known, for example, from League of Legends, that divides players into ranks (starting with Bronze and ending with Grand Master), and each rank will consist of five divisions. This is how the new system describes Blizzard:
Rank Divisions will represent the same skill levels as SR, but with a better view of players’ overall rankings. Each Division will be worth approximately 100 SR.

The company wants to take some pressure off the players, so the ranking changes will not take place after every game. Instead, the system will update every seventh win or twentieth defeat.
Users who take a long break will have a slightly understated rating to make it easier to define their current level of play. However, Blizzard will make changes to positions much more efficiently, so players will be able to revert to their old placements much faster.
During the session, you will be able to view game reports that will detail our level of the game. This section will feature replays and best moments so players can analyze their performance carefully. Reports will be reset each time the game is shut down, although Blizzard intends to extend this time in future updates.
These are the biggest changes to the new Overwatch , while the rest can be viewed on the official Blizzard website . Overwatch 2 will be released on October 4 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and personal computers.
