Pirates and Malysz?
Because I’ve always liked LEGO, that’s why my parents or grandparents gave me more sets on my birthday or Christmas. And as a person raised in the 90s, these were mainly bricks packages from the Pirates series. Probably everyone who grew up in the same period perfectly knows one-eyed and often one-legged people who sail on ships and fight with soldiers and natives. Plus sharks, crocodiles, parrots, treasure maps and golden goblets. There was a lot of it. My collection consisted mainly of smaller sets, but I couldn’t complain. It still made a fantastic naval battle. My favorite figurine, however, came from outside the series and it was a ghost that glows in the dark, which, whether you like it or not, must have haunted the seas and deserted islands.
Years later, the blocks ended up in the box and were used less and less. My little men, however, returned to favor in the twenty-first century. With the advent of “Małyszomania” they were renamed ski jumpers by me! They played the roles of Ahonen, Ammann, Schmitt, Hannawald, and the favorite of them was, of course, Małysz. With helmets on their heads, they jumped from the pillow straight to the measure borrowed from dad and won another championship. This is one of the many proofs that LEGO bricks can always be what we want and always guarantee great fun.
