In the service of Alexstrasza
The Shadowlands events have ended. The heroes defeated the Jailer (or if you prefer the Overseer), the underworld functions more or less properly, and Sylvanas … Well, I don’t want to reveal the ending completely, because perhaps some are still continuing their adventure and would not like spoilers. Anyway, “show must go on”, so Blizzard is already throwing us into another whirlwind of events – this time dragons stand in our way. Of course, this is not the first time we have dealt with this breed. Now we will be able to work with them more closely, discover Dragon Isle or their island, and complete quests given by Wrathion, Sabellian, Nozdormu or the Dragon Queen Alexstrasza herself. Of course, along the way we will also meet new friends, and there will be plenty of enemies. But is it worth starting another mission on Azeroth?
What’s new?
With the addition of Dragonflight, the developers, as always, introduce a lot of novelties to tempt players to stay with World of Warcraft. As a standard, more instances and enemies are introduced, and the lore is expanded, and we get to know them by doing a number of quests. There is also no shortage of more mounts, pets, minions, achievements or armor and weapons. By the way, our hero can now reach a maximum level of 70. There is also a new playable race – this time it is the dragon-like Dracthyr. An interesting appearance, a lot of modification possibilities and the story itself will certainly tempt many to test its playability. Moreover, a unique class has been introduced for him – Evoker (Summoner). Let’s add that this is the first class added since Legion (then we got Demon Hunter). By the way, for the first time players have such a limited ability to combine race and class. If you choose Dracthyr, you have no choice but to become an Evoker, and if you want to play an Evoker, you must choose Dracthyr. What is this class characterized by? Well, this is a hero who fights mainly at medium distance, can attack with his breath, has magical abilities, and also strengthens allies.
From the mechanical side, the talent tree has been introduced, or rather restored. It appeared at the end of Shadowlands, but now, thanks to the possibility of gaining another 10 levels, we can develop it to the end. Let’s add that we will invest points in two trees – one from our class, and the other – from specialization. So we will have to decide what we need most and what style of play we will choose. Of course, we can edit our skills at any time and adapt them to the situation.
With previous additions, users complained about too many things to do if you wanted to get really valuable items. The most irritating thing was doing the same things over and over again, which became not only tedious but also irritating. Blizzard listened to the players and significantly reduced the imposition of tasks on us this time. No more farming items and going to the same places day after day. Of course, daily quests still exist, items can be earned, and reputation for new factions is worth getting. However, it is less burdensome and the rewards are less valuable, so you don’t have to struggle and do anything against yourself. The best you can get in raids, world bosses and probably for honor. I can’t comment on the latter though. because the new PvP season is just beginning and at the moment these are only guesses. Either way, we can enjoy the fun more and laze around a bit. But won’t this state of affairs cause us to get bored quickly and give up looking at Azeroth?
And finally, probably the most interesting novelty that the players liked from the first moment. Let’s start with the fact that, unlike several previous additions, in Dragonflight you can use flying mounts almost from the beginning. You don’t need a special achievement to do this, just complete the quest, which is still necessary to complete the campaign. But it looks a bit different. You won’t be using all the mounts you collected earlier, and you’ll get a special dragon (in total, you’ll collect four such dragons over time). You can explore the new island with them, change their appearance and upgrade them. Your pets have limitations and development will be necessary here to actually fly a bit longer. To do this, you will search the map for special tokens that will allow you to develop the talents of your dragon companion. After this lengthy introduction, let’s get to the best. During the game you will take part in dragon races! There are special points from which you will start and travel the route by flying through the hoops. What counts here is the time that will allow you to get medals – from bronze to gold. Most of the time you will have fun in solo mode, breaking your own records, but there will also be special events that allow you to compete with other players. It’s not that simple, and how much fun it brings! but there will also be special events that allow you to compete with other players. It’s not that simple, and how much fun it brings! but there will also be special events that allow you to compete with other players. It’s not that simple, and how much fun it brings!
And finally, one more curiosity. Blizzard has decided to expand social media a bit, and thanks to this you can win some prizes. This will mainly consist of watching videos on Twitch. A few hours and you already have a new mount! What, do you have some free time?
And what’s next?
Blizzard announced World of Warcraft: Dragonflight as “the best expansion yet”. Honestly, I doubt they’ll beat Wrath of the Lich King or Burning Legion… but we’ll see. Certainly a very good start. Of course, there will always be a group of people who will complain about something, but talking to my guild friends (greetings to the Barbarians) or reading opinions on forums, I encounter much more positive than negative comments. Personally, I’m happy at the moment. The campaign really drew me in, I was very eager to explore Dragon Isle, help new factions, and the dragon races provided a lot of excitement. I am now looking forward to the start of the PvP season and having fun together on Battlegrounds. I’m more concerned about the future of the expansion. Both Shadowlands and Battle for Azeroth initially delighted, but later became a source of dissatisfaction and the reason for users leaving the famous MMORPG. How will it be this time? It is certainly nice that the creators are helping the fans, listening to their advice and requests and trying to adapt Azeroth to their requirements. But even such solutions are not always good. So we’ll see if we don’t get bored of dragons too quickly.
