Chris Evans was not at all considered in the filming of the scene starring over a hundred-year-old Steve Rogers in “Avengers: Endgame”. However, the alternative turned out to be unsuccessful.
Evans is permanently associated with the role of Captain America. At the moment, it is difficult to imagine that someone else could take the famous shield. And yet, it was close, and someone else would play the 106-year-old version of the hero.
Initially, an older actor was supposed to play in Avengers: Endgame . Anthony Mackie, who plays Falcon, shared this information on The Jess Cagle Show . The actor admits that there were three candidates on the set who, however, did not turn out to be sufficiently similar to Chris Evans. Mackie said his colleague would grow old like Geogre Clooney and maintain a handsome appearance. So it was decided to use makeup, dentures and a number of special effects. The actor praised Evans’ work, paying special attention to his modulation by voice.
The conversation also turned to the series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier . When asked about Sam Wilson taking on the role of Captain America, Anthony Mackie replied that it was not so obvious. Who will become the new Captain after Rogers retires, is to explain the upcoming series, which will debut on Disney + on March 19. Perhaps Evans has not completely abandoned his striped and star tricot. There are rumors that the actor will return to a role in some form in future MCU projects.
