Better hold on!
Thanos defeated his son and returned for good. He has just regained control of the Chitauri race and plans to conquer more galaxies. Meanwhile, an unexpected guest appears in his life. Cosmic Ghost Rider takes Titan on a journey through time and together they go to the future in which the ruler of the entire universe is … Thanos! The older version of our villain, however, still dreams of one thing – he wants to become the husband of Death itself. To do this, he needs the support of a younger self. So there’s going to be a crazy adventure in which absolutely anything can happen!
Change is not always for the worse
The author of the first volume of Thanosthere was Jeff Lemire, a man who needs no introduction to comic book fans. He created a dark, twisted and unusual adventure. There was no room for the good side to win in it. Only the bad one could win, or even worse. His work seemed perfect. However, Donny Cates took care of the Titan. The new author did not give up on brutality or a gloomy climate, but decided to add a large dose of madness to it. For almost half of the notebook, we watch the struggle of two Thanos dreaming of finally becoming the spouses of Death itself. Along the way, we learn what happened in the past (or the future, depending on whose perspective we look at) and who the mysterious Cosmic Ghost Rider is. There is also an extremely depressing story of the Hulk, with gallons of blood pouring all around. The second part is devoted to the aforementioned Rider who goes back in time to convert Thanos. Here, too, there is no shortage of violence, death, and at the same time stories about the most cruel misdeeds of the title villain are interjected. We also learn why attempts to change the course of events end up wrong. And this amazing mixture of really depressing and serious events with extraordinary humor that makes us break down in an instant and then burst into laughter. Bravo to the creator! Full fun!
Principal draftsmen of the story contained in the second volume of Thanosare Dylan Burnett and Geoff Shaw, who were also assisted by Antonio Fabela. Looking at the next frames in the notebook, I have the impression that someone from Marvel approached the mentioned artists and said “do what you want, get fed up!”. Plus, they saw Cates have a crazy idea for a comic and actually went all the way. What is going on in the notebook is difficult to tell. Alien planets and races make an amazing impression, cosmic space opens in front of us and pulls in like black holes, vivid colors explode from the sides, and the ruined worlds empty and depress. During fights, no one stops from throwing their entrails at us and splashing blood, which can make sensitive people nauseous. By the way, they followed the author’s footsteps and also made sure that we could be delighted, sad, but also laugh.
We need this!
Thanos vol 2 is a great comic book that will add you to the good. It is quick and pleasant to read, and the subsequent twists and unexpected situations make it impossible to break away from it. Of course, this is due to the title character, who wants power and blood, but the Cosmic Ghost Rider comes to the fore here. His behavior and jokes immediately make him think of Deadpool, and at times he is even more fun than him (don’t tell Wade!). This couple creates a crazy and even perfect duo, although they are so different from each other. We can be glad that the House of Ideas has allowed Cates, Shaw and Burnett to go all out and create such an amazing adventure. It is very good that thanks to Egmont it also found its way to the Polish market. But it could not be otherwise. After all, we are just beginning to enterMarvel Fresh , and Mad Titan could not be missing there!
