The popular director, creator of the series "Legion" may soon get a chance to make a new production in the universe of "Star Trek".
According to reports from Deadline, the Paramount film company is on the home straight to contract Noah Hawley to film another Star Trek . However, it is not about a new series, but the fourth film set in the so-called “Kelvin timeline”. This means that in the coming years we will be able to expect the return of, among others Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana or Zachary Quinto aboard the Enterprise.
Hawley would not only be a director, but also a screenwriter. Besides, he should also become the producer of the picture together with JJ Abrams. The film will be produced at the Bad Robot studio established by the latter filmmaker.
One of the most famous productions created by Hawley is undoubtedly the series Legion based on the Marvel comics. At one point, FOX even commissioned him to write and shoot a film about the Fantastic Four’s greatest enemy – Doctor Doom. However, after Disney took over the company, the subject of this project fell.
As for Star Trek itself , it’s a rather complicated topic, or at least that’s been the case in recent years. Due to the poor financial result of the last cinematic production ( Star Trek: Into the Unknown ), Paramount decided to tighten their belt a bit before trying to shoot the next movie . Here, unfortunately, there were problems with the two actors who did not want to agree to lower salaries. It is about playing the role of Captain James T. Kirk, Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth returning to the series. The latter would play the father of the famous commander of the Enterprise. The action of the painting would be strongly based on time travel (hence the return of Hemsworth’s character).
For now, the movie has no release date.
