After a long wait, Sony Pictures has released new footage of the upcoming sequel to the cult ghost movie. There are many references to the original production in it.
The new trailer brings closer links to the old movies. We can also see the return of former Slayers’ secretary Janine – played by Annie Potts. We also have a short snapshot with Dan Aykroyd. You can watch the full trailer below.
The material shows a lot of evil spirits that the heroes will have to face. There is, for example, a demonic hound that immediately resembles Gozer’s servants from the first production. Could the former enemy of the original Pogromców team attack a small town this time? The answer to this question will come over time, but the increasingly obvious connections probably no one wants to ignore anymore.
In the film we will see both new heroes and well-known ones. Among the new faces for the series there will be, among others Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace and Paul Rudd. In addition to the previously mentioned Potts and Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson are also to return. The painting is directed by Jason Reitman.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife will hit theaters on November 11 this year.
