Netflix has released a teaser promoting its latest adaptation of the game, which is the animated series entitled Dragon Age: Absolution . The fruit of a collaboration between Netflix, EA and BioWare, it will have six episodes and will debut in December, although the exact date has not been announced yet. Along with the official announcement announcing the production, the first trailer was published.
It is not yet known how much Netflix is modeled on BioWare’s games – it can be a free interpretation or an exact adaptation. The location of the animation is Tevinter, which we will see in the upcoming game, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf . The series will also feature a lot of hitherto unknown characters, which may suggest that it will be a rather loose adaptation, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Judgment will have to be suspended until another official announcement from the devs or further promotional material revealing more details.
Netflix has already declared that the production will include elves, mages, knights, Qunari, demons and others, already known from the Dragon Age universe .
The producer of the series, in addition to Netflix, is Red Dog Culture House with showrunner Mairghread Scott, who already has experience with large projects – she has worked on such hits as Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: United and Transformers Prime .
