Work is underway on a new game set in the Meat Boy universe – Dr. Fetus’ Mean Meat Machine . It will be released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 later this year.
Team Meat announced the creation of Dr. Fetus’ Mean Meat Machine. It is a spin-off of the Meat Boy game series , such as Super Meat Boy. The first details about the title were shared this week along with a trailer showing what lies ahead.
Dr. Fetus’ Mean Meat Machine is a pretty good name for this game. If you’ve played the Meat Boy series and other games from Super Meat Boy co-creators Tommy Refenes and Edmund McMillen, the new gameplay should be on par with them. In a PlayStation blog post announcing the game, Refenes talked about how it fits into the Meat Boy universe. It also gave an idea of what players can expect from it.
Meat Boy has had enough of gaming (for now). Now it’s time for Dr. Fetus has become a star. Action Dr. Fetus’ Mean Meat Machine takes place right after the events of Super Meat Boy Forever (right after the ending, right before the post-credits scene). Dr. Fetus wants to create Meat Boy clones, and he has to do it – eradicate all the shitty clones from the gene pool to make pure, perfect, killable Meat Boys.

He admitted that a game like this is not a game that many Meat Boy fans would probably expect. He also said that Team Meat hoped to “inject Super Meat Boy’s hardcore, powerhouse DNA into the match-four puzzle.” While it is indeed a puzzle game, Refenes stated that it will still be quite challenging, with players often losing lives while honing their skills.
The game has over 100 handcrafted levels filled with dangers and traps that will test your puzzle mind along with your finger reflexes. It’s a game from the Meat Boy universe , so expect to die over and over again. When you finally die, your skills will become second nature, and you’ll start working your way through the levels with little effort other than taking one simple breath . Feel fulfilled.

The exact release date of Dr. Fetus’ Mean Meat Machine has not been fixed. All we know is that PlayStation is coming this year .
