The latest information comes from YouTuber nicknamed j0nathan. According to him, the new installment of the series will be called Assassin’s Creed: Mirage . The action is to take place in the second half of the 9th century (860-870) in Baghdad, and its main character will be Basim, known from Valhalla . The game will focus on the character’s youth, from when he was only a thief until he joined the Hidden (the future Assassin Brotherhood). The production debut is reportedly scheduled for next spring.
In addition to details about the plot, j0nathan also revealed a lot of information about the game. The game draws a lot from the first installment of the series, which makes sense taking into account the time and place of the action. The title is supposed to depart, at least in part, from the RPG style that appeared in the last three parts. You will no longer be able to develop your characters by gaining new experience levels, the dialogue sections with the option to choose the answer and the choice of the main character’s gender have disappeared (this is rather obvious). Among other changes are also mentioned, among others the return of the eagle’s eyesight (no more bird scouts) or the opportunity to explore different cities separated from each other by a land similar to the Kingdom in the first Assassin’s Creed . These reports are partially confirmed by a recognized Bloomberg journalist – Jason Schreier.
It looks like this information leak could be more than just a series of rumors and guesses. We will find out the truth only when Ubisoft reveals the game itself, and probably soon. An event organized by a French-based company is to take place in September (at least according to the news contained in the leak). Then, the plans for the future of the series will also be announced, including a possible remake of the first installment of the series.
