Announced more names have joined the cast of the adaptation of The Stand , Stephen King.
On The View, horror writer Stephen King revealed who else would be starring in the miniseries based on his novel The Bastion . Among the names, two stood out – Alexander Skarsgård and Whoopi Goldberg. The first of the two actors will play the role of Randall Flagg, the demonic antagonist of the story. Goldberg will play Flagg’s rival, Mother Abagail.
King also said that the show will also feature Jovan Adepo (Larry Underwood), Owen Teague (Harold Lauder), Brad William Henke (Tom Cullen) and Daniel Sunjata (Cobb). The placement of these engagements was not accidental. The aforementioned Whoopi Goldberg is the co-host of The View. In addition to the actors mentioned above, the cast also includes James Mardsden (Stu Redman), Amber Heard (Nadine Cross), Odessa Young (Frannie Goldsmith) and Henry Zaga (Nick Andros).
Bastion is a novel considered by many to be the best work in the career of Stephen King. Originally published in 1978, the book tells the story of a world devastated by a deadly plague. The few who survived try to survive in the new dangerous reality.
