January was a turning point for the Batman universe. Matt Reeves, the writer responsible for the production with Robert Pattinson in the lead role, met with representatives of DC Studios to discuss the future of the series. There were many doubts surrounding the final implementation of the sequel, especially considering the recent decisions to cancel several DC productions. Fortunately, the release date of Batman – Part II has officially been marked on the calendar. James Gunn and Peter Safran shared the news on January 30 during a special Warner Bros. press conference .
Robert Pattinson, however, is not expected to return to the big screen until October 3, 2025. Although the choice of the main character’s role-player initially aroused mixed feelings among the fans of the universe, it ultimately enjoyed considerable sympathy. It was considered a fresh take on Brue Wayne, and it looks like we can expect further development of his character.
However , Batman – Part II is not the only production the creators are working on. The world of DC is constantly evolving, and Matt Reeves has extremely ambitious plans for it. The idea of Batversu, focused on many different stories from the world of Batman, appears on the horizon. James Gunn also referred to the screenwriter’s vision:
“Matt is working on a Batman Sequel, which he thinks of as a crime saga, also featuring The Penguin series . It’s something I’m working hard on. He introduced us to some amazing, really cool stuff that day, so our plan is to continue his work.”
