DC Entertainment has revealed that it is exploring all possibilities for animated movies and series. Prime Video has already acquired Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders from Bruce Timm. However, Merry Little Batman is a lighter take on the Dark Knight. The plot follows a younger version of Damian Wayne as he adventures alone at Wayne Manor on Christmas Eve. Of course, he calls himself Little Batman to protect his home in Gotham from various supervillains trying to ruin the holidays.
In Bat-Family, the adventures of the young hero will continue with the whole team. It’s undoubtedly nice to see the entire extended Batman family get a chance to shine after so many years of content centered around Bruce Wayne. So there is sure to be something for young and old viewers on Amazon Prime Video. Warner Bros. Animation supports both series which are based on DC comics . Regular Show’s Mike Roth will direct, with Morgan Evans, who previously wrote Teen Titans Go!, writing the script. .
Batman: The Animated Series pioneered the evolution of superhero stories and defined the Dark Knight for a generation. Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders will no doubt continue that tradition. In turn, together with Merry Little Batman and Bat-Family, we will be able to cooperate with Warner Bros. Animation and offer our global Prime Video customers a diverse take on the Batman mythos .
Vernon Sanders, head of Amazon TV and MGM Studios, said in a statement
What happened to Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders ?
Bruce Timm’s long-awaited series will also be available to watch on Prime Video. We don’t have a release date yet. (…) For now, an absolute visual knockout is expected. We are extremely excited to be collaborating to bring this character back and tell compelling new stories in Gotham City. The series will be exciting, cinematic and evokes the roots of Batman noir while delving into the psychology of these iconic characters. We can’t wait to share this new world with you.
