Here’s the official synopsis for the second season of Gourmet
When a deadly new wave of Sick arrives, Gus and a group of other hybrids are trapped by the General and the Last Men. Seeking to consolidate power by finding a cure, Abbot uses the children as a primer for the experiments of imprisoned Dr. Aditya Singh, who fights to save his infected wife Rani. To protect his friends, Gus agrees to help Dr. Singh, embarking on a dark journey into his origin story and that of his mother Birdie. Off the preserve, Tommy Jepperd and Aimee Eden team up to unleash the hybrids. The partnership will be put to the test as Jepperd’s secrets come to light.
In a previous interview with Comicbook.com, series showrunner Jim Mickle revealed that growing up the lead actor between seasons was always part of the show’s plan, saying –
We had to deal with it a bit, because halfway between the first and second seasons he had already grown up a bit, but luckily he remained sweet little Gus. It’s hard to predict anything. I think we’ve learned that you can’t predict anything. So we take it as it is. Season one was amazing and we would love to do more if the world wants it.
