Netflix announces tons of news at Geeked Week!

Netflix Geeked Week is a multi-day event organized by the famous streaming platform. The event started today and we immediately received a solid portion of announcements and trailers, including information about new seasons of the Laska and Locke & Key , as well as news in the form of an anthology of horrors from Guillermo Del Toro!

During Geeked Week, several news were announced that will soon appear on the platform. One of them is the science fiction series The Imperfects . It is to count 10 episodes and appear later this year. It will tell about young people transformed by a mad scientist into monsters who are now hunting their creator, wanting to reverse the effects of his surgery. Their activities draw the attention of a government agency, which in turn sees them as a threat. The series will contain themes of teenage youth and the difficulties associated with adolescence.

 

For fans of horror series and those who have loved Are you afraid of the dark? The Midnight Club will be a real treat . The production description is as follows: “In the mansion with a mysterious history, eight members of the Northern Club meet every night to tell terrible stories and look for supernatural signs from the afterlife. The series is based on the work of Christopher Pike. ” The premiere is scheduled for October 7.

 

Guillermo Del Toro’s fans should also be pleased with the announcement. A preview of the 8-episode series Cabinet of Curiosities has been revealed , which is to be an anthology of horror films prepared by the aforementioned artist. Let us add, however, that Del Toro is to supervise the project, while the directors of individual episodes will be, among others Jennifer Kent ( Babadook ), Panos Cosmatos ( Mandy ) or Vincenzo Natali ( Hannibal ) or Catherine Hardwicke ( Twilight ). On the screen, however, we will see, for example, Andrew Lincoln, Tim Blake Nelson, Sebastian Roche, Ben Barnes and Peter Weller.

 

Of course, apart from new products, a whole series of continuations have also been announced. After almost two years of break, Warrior Nun will return to the screen . We can already see the trailer for the second season, and in it a fragment of the further fate of Ava and her Order. We will be able to watch the production based on the manga this winter.

 

Another exciting new from Netflix is ​​the first official trailer for The Sandman , based on the DC comics. The trailer also revealed the release date – August 5. The cast members include Tom Sturridge, Kirby Howell-Baptise, Gwendoline Christie, Charles Dance, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Jenna Coleman, Joely Richardson, David Thewlis, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Fry, Patton Oswalt, and Mason Alexander Park.

 

It’s been two years since The Umbrella Academy season two was released . Fortunately, the sequel will be coming to Netflix this month. On the occasion of Geeked Week, to warm up the atmosphere before the premiere, the platform released the trailer for the third season. On June 22, Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castaneda, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Colm Feore and Ritu Arya will return to the screens.

The series is based on comic books by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez. In a world full of magic, hidden keys, Darby Stanchfield, Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, Jackson Robert Scott, Laysla De Oliveira, Petrice Jones, Griffin Gluck will once again appear.

 

Netflix ‘s Resident Evil series will come out next month. Viewers will see Albert Wesker safe and sound in the show, along with his two daughters – Billie and Jade. The new trailer for Geeked Week introduces the show’s world in a little more detail than the last teaser, also showing the hideous monsters. Netflix also shared the first look at the second season of Sweetie . The series is an adaptation of Jeff Lamiry’s comics. The exact release date has not been announced yet, but looking at the results of Season One, fans can’t wait for the sequel to finally be released on the portal.

 

The series Wednesday , directed by Tim Burton, will follow Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez (Luis Guzman) Addams’ daughter when she joins the Nevermore Academy. Netflix has finally shared its first look at the second season of the adaptation entitled Destiny: Saga Winx . Abigail Cowen (Bloom), Hannah van der Westhuysen (Stella), Precious Mustapha (Aisha), Eliot Salt (Terra), Elisha Applebaum (Musa) and Sadie Soverall (Beatrix) will return to star. In this case, the trailer was not presented, and the release date of new episodes was not given, but we could see actors known from the mentioned production advertising the title. Additionally, Anna Leong Brophy as Tamara Kir-Bataar, Patrick Gibson as Nikolai Lantsov and Jack Wolfe as Wylan Hendrix join the cast.

 

There is also good news for Alice in Borderland fans . Although in this case we will not see any video material, at least a few photos from the set have been uploaded. We see the two main characters clearly shocked. So far, we have not yet learned the release date of the new episodes.
