The series really enjoyed a lot of interest among Netflix users from the very beginning. Probably because the creators are Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese. The men are also responsible for producing the brilliant Dark . No wonder that they attracted such a large audience at the start. The cast of 1899 included Maciej Musiał . This is a great honor for a young actor. Viewers from Poland hoped for the return of our compatriot.
Unfortunately, only after the first season, the platform deletes the series. An emotional entry from the creators appeared on social media, which confirms the sad news.
It is with a heavy heart that we must tell you that 1899 will not be renewed. We would like to finish this amazing journey with a second and third season, as we did with Dark . There are many things in DNA that are kind of close to Dark in terms of the puzzle and the need for an engaged, active audience. But there are also things that are completely different in terms of atmosphere and tone, but also pace and more action. So it’s truly a beast in its own right, but it shares many of the same mechanics as Dark. I hope this feels like something really fresh and new, while also being exactly what Dark fans would love to see.
