The first part of the trilogy was released in 2007, while the celebration itself has been operating in the gaming community since 2012. On this day, both the creators and fans share the content related to the series. For the last few years, this day has not been a cause for joy. First, the ending of the trilogy faced a negative reaction, which was accused of the fact that the only thing that really mattered was the choice of the color of the epilogue, and not the decisions made throughout the game. However, great hopes were attached to Andromeda, which was to be a completely new look at the series. It turned out, however, that the fans were not quite ready to say goodbye to Shepard’s story. Andromeda was thus criticized for, among other things, little association with the trilogy. Other allegations included the rush imposed by EA and the failure to realize the project’s potential.
2020 brings new hope to fans of the series. Many believe that today, during N7 Day, the long-awaited remaster of the trilogy will be officially announced. Actors who played the roles of the main characters will take part in a special panel. In addition to Jennifer Hale and Mark Meer (Mrs. and Mr. Shepard), the event will be attended by Steven Blum (Grunt), Kimberly Brooks (Ashley Williams), Raphael Sbarge (Kaidan Alenko), Courtenay Taylor (Jack), Alix Wilton Regan (Samantha Traynor), William Salyers (Mordin Solus), DC Douglas (Legion), and Ali Hillis (Liara T’Soni). They will be accompanied by creators from the Bioware Patrick Weekes studio and Karen Weekes.
After its premiere, the game received positive feedback from the industry, including for its interactive narration and cinematic design. However, an inaccurately developed artificial intelligence system and an unbalanced combat system were criticized. Before starting the game, the player can freely adjust the appearance, origin, specialization and gender of the hero. Each part gives you the opportunity to explore the galaxy and obtain resources, allies and solve missions. During the course, it is also possible to start romances with individual companions, which has plot consequences.
The action of the trilogy takes place in the XXII century. We play the role of Commander Shepard, who (or who) is the only person who can stand in the way of destruction brought to the galaxy by a technologically advanced race of machines – the Reapers. During three exciting parts, we get closer to the characters, learn about their strengths and weaknesses, and help them develop. Despite the passage of time, history still feels great nostalgia.
