Even more controversy has arisen around her with Liu Yifei, who plays Mulan, about the protests currently taking place in Hong Kong against the government’s proposed extradition bill.
On the Chinese Weibo website, she expressed her support for the city’s police action, retelling a government newspaper post with a slogan. This caused outrage of fans on the Internet, which resulted in an action on Twitter – #BoycottMulan . There have been many posts asking for Disney to intervene.
