Movie reboot of “Superman” on the way

It’s been nearly eight years since Superman’s last solo adventures on the silver screen. It is true that in the meantime he appeared on television and in films with other heroes, but he did not get a chance for his own cinema production. However, this will change soon due to the announced reboot.

Today it has been announced that Ta-Nehisi Coates will write the script for the reboot of the adventures of Superman. Comic book fans will associate him with his work on the adventures of, among others, Black Panther and Captain America. In addition, he has also written books and essays focused on the experiences of African Americans (this is also his favorite comic theme). At the moment, no director is associated with the project, but it is known that the picture will be produced by JJ Abrams and his company Bad Robot.

No details about the plot of this movie yet. Coates, in an interview regarding his employment by DC Films and Warner Bros., merely suggested that this project would be part of the current DCEU movie universe. The mystery is also who would play the role of a man of steel. Henry Cavill’s return is of course possible, but preliminary castings are also underway. Taking into account the experience of the writer, the option of engaging a black actor also sounds realistic. A few years ago, there were rumors about such an option and even selected for the role of Michael B. Jordan.

Recently, the topic of heroes from the planet Krypton has been quite popular. Just a few days ago, the CW series Superman & Lois had its premiere . And last week, it was announced that Sasha Calle will play Supergirl in the upcoming adaptation of The Flash’s adventures.
