It had been quiet for a long time about the new movie with Jared Leto. Of course, this is largely the fault of the coronavirus, which has caused great delays across the film industry. Now we got new material with a special introduction with the impersonator of the title role.
A two-minute video promoting the movie Morbius was published on Sony’s Japanese YouTube channel . It consists of two parts – an introduction with Jared Leto and a short trailer. The latter includes several new shots from the upcoming production. You can view the entire material below.
The trailer itself does not show much new, but it was the main actor’s statement that started to stimulate the imagination of fans. The actor summarizes what the film will be about and who the character he plays is. He also adds that this is an exciting role in a growing universe. Of course, it’s impossible to avoid associations with the MCU, which appeared on the occasion of the first trailer of the movie. There, in one of the scenes, we see Michael Keaton wearing what might be a prison suit. At the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming , Adrian Toomes, played by him, is imprisoned. Do these clues finally confirm that Morbiuswill be part of the MCU? Unfortunately, it is too early to say so. Let’s remember about Sony’s plans to create their own cinematic world with Marvel characters, to which they still have the rights.
The premiere of Morbius is scheduled for March next year. At the same time, it will be the first Marvel comic book character since the New Mutants released a few months ago. We will wait even longer for the official productions embedded in the MCU.
